What's all the white, cold stuff?

She was not at all sure what to think of all that white, cold stuff all over her territory. Aleece was convinced that she was cold so she and the boyfriend took her shopping to find something warm. The found a lovely pink coat with a hoodie. Bella is styling! And oh, so warm!
We had a lovely afternoon playing out in the snow. She ran around, sniffed at every little blade of grass blanketed with snow, made paw prints in the snow, posed for pictures and just frolicked in the snow.

Don't Leee veee me!

The kids got ready for the gym after dinner. The went out the front door. Bella must have thought she was going too because when they left her, she was not happy. She cried and whinnied and cried and carried on for a good five minutes. She was inconsolable. It was not like Gary and I were leaving. I was comfy on the sofa being lazy and Gary was watching TV.
She would not come to me. She kept running back and forth to the front door and back to the den, crying.
Her best friend left her, she was not happy.

Don't leave me alone in the kitchen!

This is a picture of guilty Bella. She was naughty this morning. She slept with Aleece but woke up about 5:30. She sleeps at Aleece's feet but when she wakes up she gets up and lays right by Aleece's face and just stares at her. At this point, Aleece is trying to ignore her but can feel her stare boring holes into her. She is patient for about 30 minutes and then she is done. She stands up and begins to get Aleece's attention by nuzzling her, licking her and if all that doesn't work, jumping down from the bed and scratching at the door.
In frustration, Aleece gets up and takes her to the kitchen and locks her behind the gate. This is not definitely not what Aleece had in mind. She is distressed as Aleece turns to go back to her warm bed that is calling her name. Bella tries to get her attention.
She opens my cabinets and knocks my plastic ware on to the floor. She gets a paper bag and rips it to shreds to show her displeasure at being left alone in the kitchen.
We got your message loud and clear, Bella!

Almost got away with it!

It was almost Bella's lucky day! First, she wedged out of the back door while Aleece and I were going out to cook the steaks. She had a great time running around the back yard but we caught her and took her back inside. The second time, she was a bit quicker and was able to run down the driveway and she.was.gone.!!!

She discoverd that she could take the lid of the dog food off with her nose. Yes, we caught her red pawed standing on her hind legs trying to eat right out of the dog food container. She got a stern "talking to" about her manners.

Later, she saw CJ and Mark playing ball in their front yard and she was racing as fast as her stubby legs would carry her. She took a side trip to chase a cat and then back to our neighbors front yard. She pushed the back gate open and before anyone could say "Bella" she was inside their house running around like she had just downed a quad venti coffee of the day!

Finally got her back into the house and she collapsed, exhausted from her sprint across the street.

She ended the night being entertained by watching u tube dogie videos. One of her favorite pass times.

A morning exercise routine

So Gary took Bella out this morning and was gone for a really long time. Aleece got up and was wondering where her "baby love" was hiding. They didn't come in and they didn't come in. Aleece was worried that she had gotten away from her dad and he didn't want to come in and tell us that she ran off. No, I knew that didn't happen!

Yeah, he got waylaid out on their walk. Our neighbour was out with her dog, Scotter...Bella's best friend! She has two friends...Scotter and Bo. While Gary and Pat were chatting, Bella and Scotter were running around in circles playing.

After awhile, she collapses! She goes and goes until she just can't go anymore.

We both exercised today!

Mornings

Bella still sleeps in her kennel at night. Gary says when she turns two which is on January 21, she will be able to sleep in our room at night. She will be a "big girl" then!
I'm usually in the shower or just getting out when Gary gets her up and takes her outside to do her "business". She comes barreling in to our bed room and if the bathroom door is closed she just keeps pushing into the door until I open it for her or until she opens it herself!
She patiently waits for me with her toy of choice not far away. She wants me to play. Most mornings I have the time. I throw her toy and she runs and brings it back to me. Only it's a game...she doesn't just drop it at my feet, she wants me to chase her to get the toy from her. It's all great fun and a wonderful way to start the day!

What she does best

A great life!

It was suggested that a blog be started to chronicle the antics of our puppy. She is a naughty dog that we love very much. She came into our lives around March 10, 2008. We had to put our beloved Holly down around February because she was very sick. It was sad. i did'nt really think I would want another dog but I did.
Bella is polar opposite of Holly. Poor Holly would turn over in her grave is she saw some of the things that Bella gets away with and how we treat her.
Bella has more toys that Holly ever had.
Of course, Holly came along when the girls were little and my primary concern was them. I had no time for a dog. Gary cared for Holly.
Now, as a semi empty nester, I have time to shower my attention on Bella. Buy her toys. Play with her. Love on her. Enjoy the unconditional love she gives me.
So, stay tuned for more post about our life with Bella.
