One of my favorite things

One of my favorite things is to stretch out in my momma's arms and go to sleep. She is so soft and comfy! It's so relaxing.

Mutt and Jeff

I feel like such a shrimp next to him. He is so big and strong. I want to play with him but sometimes he plays too rough and I get scared. When he comes after me, I run. You see, he is big but I run really fast in our house. I can fit into really small spaces and hide under tables are behind the big people and he can't get to me. I hope I grow up to be just like him!

They go off and LEAVE us!

We love the big people! We do our best to show them how very much we love them. As soon as we hear them we wait anxiously by the front door to greet them.
But still, they go off and leave us!
We really don't understand why they would do that.
But they always come back.
We love them!

I just don't get it!

Today, I am letting my buddy Naki write this blog. He has been having a tough time and needs to share his feelings.

I've been here for awhile now. It was strange at first but now I think it's pretty much the best thing that ever happened to me. I used to live outside and just look in to were the people lived but know, I live inside with the people and look outdoors. It's amazing...really!
I have this new friend too. She's little and has really short legs. I have to laugh when we go walking cause she has a really hard time keeping up. I'm just strolling along and she is running to keep up with me. HeHeHe
I keep getting yelled out today by the female person for doing the exact same thing that the little short leg creature does. I saw her jump up into the female person's lap and I put my paws on her to jump up too and got yelled at. Really! And, the short leg creature just smiled at me!
Later, I jumped up on the window ledge and once again, got yelled at for doing what squirt did. It's annoying.
I'm just saying.
I love living here but things are just not that fair.
I just had to get that off my chest.

An exciting adventure

The other day we, that would be the Big One and me, were just laying around minding our own business. Actually, I was sitting in the window sill looking outside. That is my favorite spot in the whole house because the Big One can't get to me and I can enjoy all the things going on outdoors without having to look over my shoulder to see what the Big One is up to. He likes to try to sneak up on me and bite my neck but I'm way to quick for him! So, anyway, all was quiet until I saw the momma and sister drive up. I was so excited that I ran up to the front door to greet them. Of course, the Big One has to do EVERYTHING I do so he followed. I heard the key turn in the lock and the door came open.
I waited patiently for them to come into the house and then there was a REALLY loud noise and she turned her back on the door and walked a few steps away from the door. I couldn't believe it!
I looked at the Big One and he looked back at me and in a split second we made a mad dash for it!
FREEDOM!
Oh, man was it our lucky day! We were out before they knew what to do and the Big One was running really fast. Then, I realized that we were not alone. There were some other dogs running too. WOW! The Big One was chasing all those other dogs. Boy was I glad that I was with him because they didn't look too friendly. When I got closer I could see that they were dirty and smelly and they looked mean. One of them turned around and tried to bite me but the Big One chased him away.
Then, I heard that sound. You know that high pitched sound that is always followed by a yummy treat. Yeah! I had to stop and get my breath. I'm thinking I may be a bit out of shape. I listened again and then I was sure that my best friend was calling me and there would be a yummy treat if I obeyed. I was running as fast as I could and the Big One passed me up. I hate when that happens. I can't help that my legs are really short.
We got to go play outside, run and almost fight with some really mean dogs AND get a nice treat.
It was a great day!

My best friend

He just appeared one day. Yeah, one day I was all alone, princess of the castle and the next day, he was there. Towering over me. I wasn't so sure how I felt about him at first. It was definitely not love at first sight. I don't even know if I believe in that. But truthfully, he just appeared.
She brought him in.
The one that loves me and cares for me.
I'm not going to lie to you, at first I was a little hurt and confused. But soon I realized that he was a friend and there was plenty of love to go around.
Yes, she still loves me. I can still sleep with her...when I've had a bath. She still picks me up and loves me and talks to me like there is no one else around.
I.Love.it!

He has been here for a few weeks so I guess he is here to stay. We have gotten to be best friends. We eat together and we play together. I like to follow him and be near him all the time.

Sometimes when we are especially good, we get a treat.
His treats are BIG. I mean, they are bigger than me. But I get a treat that is just my size. I just have to watch out because he will come and take my treat when I am not looking.
I did hear her say that he can't have those big treats anymore. Something about a tummy ache. That's what he gets for stealing mine, too!

My favorite Spot

It's been an exhausting day. I've chased squirrels and that pesky cat that lives next door. I have sat by the window looking at all the birds and the watching the cars and people go by. I played a very strenuous game of catch with the momma. I stayed in the kitchen and guarded momma as she was busy making food.
Then, in the middle of the night my tummy was upset. I was sick. It was yucky. I couldn't go back to sleep.
Yes, a long day.
I'm just going to kick back and go to sleep right on top of the daddy's stinky work shoes.
AH, life is good!

Strutting my stuff

I got a bath today and now I am showing off for all to see! I'm clean, soft and looking good!

Let me teach you somethings

Always run to greet loved ones when they come home.

Never pass the opportunity to go for a joy ride.

Recognize the ecstasy of fresh air and wind in your face.

Take naps. (I do that!)

Stretch before rising.

Run, romp and play daily.

Thrive on attention (I do that) and let people touch you.

Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.

On warm days, lie on your back in the grass. On hot days, drink lots of water and find the shade.

When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.

Enjoy long walks.

Be loyal.

Never pretend to be something you're not.

If what you want is buried, dig deep until you find it.

And, when someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.

I just know they will come home soon!

All day long while my family is away, I wait for them to come home. I wait, and wait and wait. Sometimes it takes a very long time for them to come back to me, but I'm pretty sure they will always come back home.

When I think I see them in the driveway, I get oh so excited and start jumping up and down. Once they are actually walking in front of the window, I make a mad dash for the door so I can be right there when they come through the door.
I love my family!

My lucky day!

Finally, everyone left the house and I was all alone. I thought they would never leave! I had been sniffing out some new aroma since the weekend and wanted to do more exploring.
When I made absolutely sure that they were no where to be found, I made my way up on to the recliner. Just in case someone came running back in to get something they had forgotten, I pretended to sleep there by the window in the very comfy recliner for a few minutes.
Not long because the excitement was just too much for me.
I carefully stood up and in one leap, jumped up on the table. I just love it that they have this table here right in the middle of the room. I hope it stays here forever because they have all kinds of really yummy treats up here.
I sniffed around until I found what I was looking for. They were in a bag. But I could sniff right through that plastic. I knew there was something very yummy in there to eat. I began working on getting it open. Not as easy as it looks, for sure. But my persistence paid off and finally I was able to tear open the bag and voila, yummy peanut butter cookies!!
Lots of them. I wanted to savor them but instead I just gobbled them up in fear that someone would come and take them away from me.
Oh, how delicious.
Now, I can lay down and sleep for a long while!
They will never know.
I left no crumbs behind.

I just can't be left alone!

The house is in caos! I used to hang out in the kitchen but that place doesn't even look like a kitchen anymore. There is black plastic where there used to be a gate. My bed is no longer in my favorite spot. I JUST don't know what to do!

I was so distraught today when everyone went off and left me that I found a colorful chew toy and I had a good time.

I also made myself at home on the table where they keep the food and other stuff. I really think they should be happy because I licked the table clean. I really could not help that I left my paw prints all on the table. It was fun.

I wonder what I can get into tomorrow when they all leave? I can't wait!

Happy Birthday to me!

Love going to the park, especially on my birthday!

Not too crazy about all the sniffing that goes on when I just want to run around and play with everyone.

When my personal space is invaded, I run and hide under the bench. Anything to keep my behind away from the sniffy dogs.

When things get out of hand I can count on my momma to scoop me up and wrap her protecting arms around me.

While we were playing at the park, I got a call from someone very special wishing me a happy birthday!

Did someone upgrade me?

My kennel has been moved to a different spot. It's all very confusing to be sure. I revisit my old spot just find a new and upgraded suite. Comfy, cozy, and oh so nice!
A lap top on the side...all part of the deal, huh? I think I like it!
No, no! I am so sure I love it!
But when it is time for bed, they put me back in my kennel but in a different spot. In the kitchen.
I hear the kitty cat outside. And, I call out.
Come and let me out.
Why can she roam around at night, and I must be contained in this box.

He comes and gets me and she puts me up in bed with her. Oh, it's so nice.
I think I like these changes!
